It is caused by damage in the areas of the brain responsible for movement, balance, and muscle control.<br data-start=\"400\" data-end=\"403\" \/>This condition affects an individual\u2019s ability to move their body purposefully and in a coordinated way.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"639\">The symptoms of cerebral palsy can vary greatly depending on which part of the brain is affected and the severity of the damage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"678\"><strong data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"678\">The most common symptoms include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"680\" data-end=\"1329\">\n<li data-start=\"680\" data-end=\"815\">\n<p data-start=\"682\" data-end=\"815\"><strong data-start=\"682\" data-end=\"718\">Delayed Motor Skill Development:<\/strong> Late or absent achievement of developmental milestones such as sitting, crawling, and walking.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"919\">\n<p data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"919\"><strong data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"843\">Abnormal Muscle Tone:<\/strong> Muscles being excessively stiff (spasticity) or overly loose (hypotonia).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"920\" data-end=\"1021\">\n<p data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"1021\"><strong data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"960\">Coordination and Balance Problems:<\/strong> Unsteady, shaky movements known as ataxia, frequent falls.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1116\">\n<p data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1116\"><strong data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1050\">Involuntary Movements:<\/strong> Uncontrolled spasms, tremors, or twisting motions (dyskinesia).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1212\">\n<p data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1212\"><strong data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1144\">Walking Difficulties:<\/strong> Toe walking, scissoring gait, or other abnormal walking patterns.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1329\">\n<p data-start=\"1215\" data-end=\"1329\"><strong data-start=\"1215\" data-end=\"1254\">Speech and Swallowing Difficulties:<\/strong> Delayed or impaired speech development, swallowing and feeding problems.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1331\" data-end=\"1473\">Cerebral palsy is often accompanied by vision and hearing problems, epilepsy (seizures), intellectual disability, and learning difficulties.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1475\" data-end=\"1478\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1526\"><strong data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1526\">The four main types of cerebral palsy are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"2082\">\n<li data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"1681\">\n<p data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1681\"><strong data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1557\">Spastic Cerebral Palsy:<\/strong> The most common type. It causes muscle stiffness and exaggerated reflexes, leading to restricted and difficult movements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1682\" data-end=\"1806\">\n<p data-start=\"1684\" data-end=\"1806\"><strong data-start=\"1684\" data-end=\"1714\">Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy:<\/strong> Characterized by constantly changing muscle tone and uncontrolled, involuntary movements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1807\" data-end=\"1959\">\n<p data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1959\"><strong data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1835\">Ataxic Cerebral Palsy:<\/strong> Marked by balance and coordination difficulties. Walking and fine motor skills (such as writing) become more challenging.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"2082\">\n<p data-start=\"1962\" data-end=\"2082\"><strong data-start=\"1962\" data-end=\"1987\">Mixed Cerebral Palsy:<\/strong> A combination of features from more than one type, where different symptoms appear together.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2087\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"2089\" data-end=\"2128\"><strong data-start=\"2089\" data-end=\"2128\">TREATMENT PROCESS OF CEREBRAL PALSY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2499\">There is no definitive cure for cerebral palsy; however, with appropriate treatment approaches and rehabilitation, the individual\u2019s quality of life can be significantly improved.<br data-start=\"2308\" data-end=\"2311\" \/>Treatment is planned through a multidisciplinary approach, involving the collaboration of various specialists (physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, doctors, etc.).<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2501\" data-end=\"3122\">\n<li data-start=\"2501\" data-end=\"2644\">\n<p data-start=\"2503\" data-end=\"2644\"><strong data-start=\"2503\" data-end=\"2543\">Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation:<\/strong> Crucial for strengthening muscles, reducing spasticity, improving mobility, and enhancing balance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2645\" data-end=\"2748\">\n<p data-start=\"2647\" data-end=\"2748\"><strong data-start=\"2647\" data-end=\"2679\">Speech and Language Therapy:<\/strong> Helps overcome speech, swallowing, and communication difficulties.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2749\" data-end=\"2864\">\n<p data-start=\"2751\" data-end=\"2864\"><strong data-start=\"2751\" data-end=\"2776\">Occupational Therapy:<\/strong> Supports daily living activities (such as dressing, eating) to increase independence.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2865\" data-end=\"2944\">\n<p data-start=\"2867\" data-end=\"2944\"><strong data-start=\"2867\" data-end=\"2882\">Medication:<\/strong> May be used to reduce muscle stiffness or control seizures.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2945\" data-end=\"3040\">\n<p data-start=\"2947\" data-end=\"3040\"><strong data-start=\"2947\" data-end=\"2970\">Orthopedic Surgery:<\/strong> Applied to correct severe muscle contractures and bone deformities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3041\" data-end=\"3122\">\n<p data-start=\"3043\" data-end=\"3122\"><strong data-start=\"3043\" data-end=\"3065\">Assistive Devices:<\/strong> Walkers, wheelchairs, or splints can improve mobility.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3124\" data-end=\"3405\">The treatment process usually continues throughout life and is continuously updated based on the individual\u2019s age, needs, and goals.
